On this day in 1991, fellow Native Tongues Posse artists, Black Sheep, released their debut album A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing on Mercury. The album was mostly self-produced by Black Sheep themselves, Dres and Mr. Lawnge. The mischievous set spawned four hit singles: "Flavor of the Month," "Strobelite Honey," "Similak Child," and the classic joint "The Choice is Yours" which hit #1 on the Rap chart and was accompanied by a revolutionizing music video which changed the art form. A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing peaked at #30 on the Billboard 200 and #15 on the R&B chart. It was certified gold.

On this day in 1997, rap supergroup The Firm released their one and only album The Firm: The Album on Aftermath. The album was produced by Dr. Dre and Trackmasters. Guests featured on the album included Dr. Dre, Pretty Boy, Canibus, Half a Mill, Dawn Robinson of En Vogue, and Lucy Pearl. The Firm: The Album spawned a couple smash hits like "Firm Biz," and "Phone Tap." The highly anticipated album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and also reached #1 on the R&B chart.

On this day in 1992, Masters of Ceremony and Brand Nubian member Grand Puba released his solo debut album Reel to Reel on Elektra. The album was self-produced by Grand Puba and featured some production from Kid Capri, Stimulated Dummies and others. The album produced a couple singles. The lead single "360 Degrees (What Goes Around)," hit #1 on the Rap Singles chart and peaked at #68 on the Billboard Hot 100. The second single off the album was "Check It Out," which featured an early guest performance from Mary J. Blige. Reel to Reel spent fourteen weeks on the Billboard 200 and peaked at #28 on the chart. It reached #14 on the R&B chart.
