On this day in 1992, Kris Kross released their debut album Totally Krossed Out on Ruffhouse.  The album was produced and mostly written by Jermaine Dupre.  The set featured the singles "Jump," which sold over two million copies and reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100; "Warm It Up," which reached #13 on the Hot 100 and #1 on the Rap chart; "I Missed the Bus," which peaked at #63 on the Billboard Hot 100; and "It's a Shame," which reached #55 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and #11 on the Rap chart.  The album hit #1 on the Billboard 200 and the R&B/Hip-Hop charts.  It was certified multi-platinum by the RIAA.

On this day in 1993, Onyx released their debut album Bacdafucup on JMJ Records/Rush.  The album was produced by Chyskillz, Jam Master Jay, and Kool Tee.  The debut set spawned the singles "Throw Ya Gunz," which was the lead single off the album and reached #81 on the Billboard Hot 100; "Slam," which peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100; and "Shifftee," which peaked at #92 on the Billboard Hot 100.  Bacdafucup reached #17 on the Billboard 200 and peaked at #8 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart.  It was certified platinum by the RIAA in October, 1993.

On this day in 1988, Philadelphia's DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince released their sophomore album He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper on Jive.  The second set from the duo was the first rap double album and was self-produced by DJ Jazzy Jeff, Fresh Prince, along with Pete Harris.  

He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper spawned the singles "Brand New Funk," which was the lead promotional single for the album; "Parents Just Don't Understand," which reached #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and won the first-ever Grammy Award for best rap performance; and "A Nightmare on My Street," which reached #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at #9 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart.  The album peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 and #5 on the R&B chart.  It was certified triple-platinum by the RIAA in 1995.

On this day in 1995, Wu-Tang Clan member Ol' Dirty Bastard released his debut solo album Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version on Elektra.  It was the second solo album released by a member of the Wu-Tang Clan.  The album was produced by RZA, ODB, True Master, and 4th Disciple.  Guest artists on the album included fellow Wu-Tang members GZA, RZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, and Masta Killa, along with Brooklyn Zoo and other Wu-Tang affiliates.
