On this day in 1995, the Brooklyn duo Smif-N-Wessun released their debut album Dah Shinin' on Duck Down. The album featured production from Da Beatminerz, which included DJ Evil Dee, Baby Paul, Mr. Walt, and Rich Blak. Guest artists featured on the set were other members of the supergroup the Boot Camp Clik, which included Black Moon, Heltah Skeltah, and O.G.C. Dah Shinin' spawned the classic joints "Stand Strong," "Let's Git It On," "Sound Bwoy Bureill," and the underground hits "Bucktown," "Wrekonize," and "Wontime." The album reached #59 on the Billboard 200. It peaked at #5 on the R&B chart.
