THIS DAY IN HIP-HOP...WU-TANG CLAN - 36 CHAMBERS

On this day in Hip-Hop history, the Wu-Tang Clan released their debut album Enter the Wu-Tang.

On this day in 1993, Wu-Tang Clan released their debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) on Loud.  The debut set from the nine-member crew was mostly produced by their own RZA.  The album was both critically acclaimed and a commercial success.

It produced five bona fide classic joints: "C.R.E.A.M.," "Protect Ya Neck," "Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nothing ta Fuck Wit," "Can It All Be So Simple," and "Method Man."  Enter the Wu-Tang spent forty-three weeks on the Billboard 200 and peaked at #41 on the chart.  It spent 140 weeks on the R&B chart and peaked at #8.  It is certified platinum.
