On this day in 1985, beatbox aficionado Doug E. Fresh along with his Get Fresh Crew (MC Ricky D aka Slick Rick, Barry Bee, and Chill Will), released the 12" single with "The Show" and "La Di Da Di" on Reality. The joint has since been considered a classic. "The Show" peaked at #4 on the R&B chart and reached the top five in the UK. It sold over half a million copies in the US and was the best selling rap single in Europe. "The Show" was later featured as a remix on Doug E. Fresh's debut album Oh, My God! in 1986. Also on this day... 1991 - Cypress Hill released their self-titled debut album on Columbia. 1996 - Facemob released their debut album The Other Side of the Law on Rap-A-Lot. 2013 - Big Sean released the single "Control" on Def Jam.
