​On this day in hip-hop history, Cormega released his debut studio album The Realness on Landspeed.

The former member of the group The Firm, Cormega, released his debut studio album The Realness on this day in 2001.  The album featured production from a number of producers including Havoc and the Alchemist.

The album included features with Prodigy on the track "Thun & Kick," Mobb Deep on the hidden track "Killaz Theme II," and Tragedy Khadafi on the joint "They Forced My Hand."

​The Realness reached #24 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart.

2014 - Common released his tenth studio album Nobody's Smiling on Def Jam.

2016 - Gucci Mane released ninth studio album Everybody Looking on Atlantic.
