On this day in 1993, Oakland rapper Seagram released his debut album The Dark Roads on Rap-A-Lot. The album featured production from Seagram, Mark Anthony, Troy White, Egypt Terrorist, and Bushwick Bill. Guest artists featured on the album included Gangsta P, Scarface, Bushwick Bill, Willie D, Ganksta N-I-P, and Vell. The Dark Roads produced the cult-classic hit "The Vill" as well as "Straight Mobbin'," which is credited as the first hip-hop track to utilize the "-izzle" slang first used by E-40 and later popularized by Snoop Dogg. The album reached #74 on the R&B chart.
