On this day in 1994, Atlanta duo, Outkast, released their debut album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik on LaFace. The album was produced by the production team Organized Noize. Fellow ATL crew and posse partners Goodie Mob appeared as guests on the debut set. Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik spawned the hit singles "Player's Ball," which reached #37 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified gold by the RIAA; "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik," which reached #74 on the Billboard Hot 100; and "Git Up, Git Out," which peaked at #59 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart. The album spent twenty-six weeks on the Billboard 200 and peaked at #20 on the chart. It was certified platinum by the RIAA in April, 1995.
