On this day in 1998, DMX released his debut album It's Dark and Hell Is Hot on Rush. The debut was produced by Swizz Beatz, P.K., Dame Grease, and Irv Gotti. Guest artists featured on the set included Faith Evans, Sheek Louch, Drag-On, Loose, Big Stan, Kasino, The Lox, and Mase. It's Dark and Hell Is Hot spawned the singles "How's It Goin' Down;" "Stop Being Greedy;" "Get at Me Dog," which reached #6 on the Rap chart; and "Ruff Ryder's Anthem," which peaked at #93 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. It also reached #1 on the R&B chart. It was certified four-time multi-platinum by the RIAA.
