On this day in 2001, Beanie Sigel released his second studio album The Reason on Roc-A-Fella. The album was primarily produced by Just Blaze along with production by Kanye West, Rick Rock, 88-Keys, No I.D., Big Demi, and Sha-Self. Notable guest artists featured on the album included Jay Z, Freeway, Young Chris, and Scarface. The Reason spawned the singles "Think It's a Game," which reached #99 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart; and "Beanie (Mack Bitch)," which reached #52 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and peaked at #11 on the Rap chart. The album debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200. It reached #1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart.
