On this day in 1994, Thug Life released their debut album Thug Life: Vol. 1 on Out Da Gutta. The group members included Big Syke, Big Kato, Stretch, the Rated R, Macadoshis, 2Pac Shakur, and his older brother Mopreme Shakur. They released their debut on 2Pac's own label, Out Da Gutta. The album was produced by Warren G, Nate Dogg, Easy Mo Bee, Johnny "J," Moe ZMD, and various members of the group. Guests featured on the album included Prince Ital Joe, Spice 1, Dramacydal, Richie Rich, and Biggie Smalls. Thug Life: Vol. 1 spawned four singles: "How Long Will They Mourn Me?," "Pour Out a Little Liquor," "Shit Don't Stop," and the hit "Cradle to the Grave," which peaked at #91 on the R&B chart and #25 on the Rap chart. The album reached #42 on the Billboard 200. It peaked at #6 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart. Thug Life: Vol. 1was certified gold by the RIAA.
