On this day in 1992, UGK, the Texas hip-hop duo of Pimp C and Bun B, released their debut album Too Hard to Swallow on Jive. The album featured production from UGK, Bernie Bismark, and Shetoro Henderson. It contained samples from Bill Withers, Rufus, and the Isley Brothers. Too Hard to Swallow contained cuts from the group's succesful EP, The Southern Way, which was released earlier in the year. The album reached #37 on the R&B chart and #14 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.
