On this day in 1991, A Tribe Called Quest released their second album The Low End Theory on Jive. The second set from the group fused jazz and hip-hop seamlessly and became one of the most critically acclaimed landmark hip-hop albums of all time. The Low End Theory spawned three singles: "Check the Rhime," "Jazz (We've Got)," and "Scenerio," which hit #57 on the Billboard's Hot 100. The album reached #45 on the Billboard 200 and #13 on the R&B chart. It was certified platinum in 1995.
