On this day in Hip-Hop history, The Firm released their debut album The Firm: The Album.

On this day in 1997, rap supergroup The Firm released their one and only album The Firm: The Album on Aftermath.  The album was produced by Dr. Dre and Trackmasters.  Guests featured on the album included Dr. Dre, Pretty Boy, Canibus, Half a Mill, Dawn Robinson of En Vogue, and Lucy Pearl.

The Firm: The Album spawned the smash hits "Firm Biz," and "Phone Tap."  The highly anticipated album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and also reached #1 on the R&B chart.

1997 - 
Salt-N-Pepa released their fifth album Brand New on Red Ant.

2003 - Loon released his self-titled debut album on Bad Boy.

2006 - Jim Jones released the single "We Fly High" on Diplomat.

2014 - T.I. released his ninth album Paperwork on Columbia.
