On this day in 1998, Snoop Dogg released his third studio album Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told on No Limit Records. It was his first album on the new label. The album was produced by Beats By the Pound, DJ Pooh, DJ Darryl, Meech Wells, and Soopafly. Guest artists featured on the set included Master P, Mystikal, Charlie Wilson, Mia X, Fiend, Jon B, C-Murder, Silkk the Shocker and others. Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Sold spawned the singles: "Still a G Thang," which reached #19 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on the Rap chart; "Woof," which reached #62 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on the Rap chart; and "Slow Down," which is listed as "Can't Take the Heat" on some editions. The album reached #1 on the both the Billboard 200 and the R&B/Hip-Hop chart. It was certified multi-platinum by the RIAA.
