On this day in 1988, Sir Mix-A-Lot released his debut album Swass on NastyMix. The album was self-produced and released on the Seatlle MC's own label. Swass featured a few hit singles, including "Posse on Broadway," and "Rippin" which Kid Sensation appeared as a guest. The title track's hook would later be used for the 2005 Pussycat Dolls single "Don't Cha." The album spent fifty-eight weeks on the charts and reached #82 on the Billboard 200 and #20 on the R&B chart. Swass was certified platinum.
