On this day in 1992, Sir Mix-A-Lot released his third album Mack Daddy on Def American. The album was produced by Sir Mix-A-Lot, Rick Rubin, Nate Foxx, and Strange. Mack Daddy featured the controversial mega hit single "Baby Got Back," which stayed at #1 for five weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold over two million copies and won a Grammy. The album peaked at #9 on the Billboard 200. It was certified platinum by the RIAA in July, 1992.
