On this day in 1993, Run-D.M.C. released their sixth album Down with the King on Profile. The album featured production from the Bomb Squad, Pete Rock, Jermaine Dupri, Daniel Shulman, Q-Tip, and EPMD. Guest artists featured on the set included EPMD, Mad Cobra, and Tom Morello. Down with the King spawned the two singles "Down with the King," which was the lead single, reached #21 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified gold; and "Ooh, Whatcha Gonna Do," which reached #78 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and #21 on the Rap chart. The album peaked at #7 on the Billboard 200. It reached #1 on the R&B chart.
