On this day in Hip-Hop history, Run-D.M.C. released their seventh and final album Crown Royal.

On this day in 2001, Run-D.M.C. released their seventh and final album Crown Royal on Arista.  The album featured production from Run-D.M.C., DJ Lethal, Kid Rock, Jermaine Dupri, and more.  The classic album featured collaborations with many artists which included Nas, Prodigy, Sugar Ray, Fred Durst, Kid Rock, Stephan Jenkins, Everest, Method Man, Jermaine Dupri, and Fat Joe.

​Crown Royal
 was the first Run-D.M.C. album to have the parental advisory label despite previous albums containing some explicit lyrics.  The album reached #37 on the Billboard 200.  It peaked at #22 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart.
