On this day in 1989, Queen Latifah released her debut album All Hail the Queen on Tommy Boy. The album featured production from Prince Paul, KRS-One, Mark the 45 King, Little Louie Vega, and Daddy-O of Stetsasonic. All Hail the Queen spawned the classic hit singles "Wrath of My Madness," "Mama Gave Birth to the Soul Children," which featured De La Soul, and "Ladies First," which featured Monie Love. The album peaked at #124 on the Billboard 200 and #6 on the R&B chart. It was certified gold.
