On this day in 2003, Outkast released their fifth studio album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below on LaFace.  It was released as a double album with Speakerboxxx fronted by Big Boi and The Love Below by Andr'e 3000.  The album would establish the group as one of the most successful and influential artists of that decade.

Outkast's fifth studio album sold over eleven million copies and was certified diamond.  It spawned two #1 pop singles.  The Grammy-nominated "Hey Ya!," which spent nine weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "The Way You Move," which replaced "Hey Ya!" at the top of the chart.  The album had a third single "Roses," which reached the top five on the Billboard Hot 100.

Speakerboxxx/The Love Below reached #1 on the Billboard 200.  Outkast won three Grammys in 2004, including the Grammy for album of the year and best rap album
