On this day in 1996, Atlanta hip-hop duo Outkast released their second album ATLiens on LaFace. The album was recorded in Atlanta and produced primarily by Organized Noize. ATLiens spawned a few singles, the first being "Elevators (Me & You)" which reached #5 on the R&B chart. The single "ATLiens" reached #35 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Jazzy Belle" reached #52 on the same chart. The hip-hop duo's second album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the R&B chart. ATLiens is certified multi-platinum.
