On this day in Hip-Hop history, MC Lyte released her sophomore album Eyes on This.
On this day in 1989, MC Lyte released her second album Eyes on This on Atlantic. The album was produced by Lyte's brothers known as Audio Two, Marley Marl, King of Chill, Grand Puba, PMD, and Nat Robinson. Eyes on This spawned three singles: "Cha Cha Cha," which reached #1 on the charts, "Stop, Look, Listen," and the anti-violence themed classic "Cappucino." The album hit #86 on the Billboard 200 and #6 on the R&B chart. It helped establish MC Lyte as one of the top female MCs of that day and all time.
