On this day in 1997, Ma$e released his debut album Harlem World on Bad Boy. The album featured production by the Neptunes, Jermaine Dupri, Dame Grease, Mo-Suave-A, and Puff Daddy's Hitmen crew. Notable guests featured on the album included DMX, L.O.X., Kelis, Lil' Kim, 8Ball & MJG, 112, Jay Z, Busta Rhymes, Puff Daddy and more. The debut set spawned the hits "Feels So Good," "Lookin' at Me," and "What You Want." All three reached the top ten on Billboard's Hot 100, R&B, and Rap charts. Harlem World debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and the R&B chart. The album was nominated for the Grammy for Best Rap Album. It sold over 175,000 copies in its first week and has since sold over 3 million. It is certified multi-platinum.
