On this day in 2011, Chicago artist Lupe Fiasco released his third studio album Lasers on Atlantic. The album featured production from the Neptunes, Alex da Kid, Kane Beatz, and King David. The release of the third set was delayed by Atlantic and was met by petitions from fans which solidified a release date for the album. Notable guest artists featured on the album included John Legend, Skylar Grey, and Trey Songz. Lasers produced the multi-platinum lead single "The Show Goes On," which reached #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for two Grammys. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. It sold over 200,000 copies it's first week. It was certified gold by the RIAA in 2014.
