On this day in 2006, Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco dropped his debut album Food & Liquor on Atlantic. The critically acclaimed debut featured production by Kanye West and the Neptunes. Jay Z was credited as executive producer. Food & Liquor reached #8 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Rap chart. Lupe was nominated for four Grammys, including best rap album, and won a Grammy for best urban/alternative performance for the single "Daydreamin'," which featured Jill Scott.
