On this day in Hip-Hop history, Hip-Hop pioneer, Grandmaster Flash, was born.

On this day in 1958, Grandmaster Flash was born in Bridgetown, Barbados.  He grew up in the South Bronx, New York.  He is an American hip-hop recording artist and DJ.  He is one of the pioneers of hip-hop DJing, cutting, scratching, and mixing.  

Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, becoming the first hip-hop act to be honored.
