On this day in 1991, the Geto Boys released their third studio album We Can't Be Stopped on Rap-A-Lot. The album featured production by Bushwick Bill, Scarface, Willie D, James Smith, John Bido, Johnny C, Roland, and Simon. The now infamous album cover was taken at the hospital after member Bushwick Bill was shot in the eye. We Can't Be Stopped spawned the hit single "Mind Playing Tricks on Me," which sampled "Hung Up on My Baby" by Isaac Hayes. The single peaked at #23 on the Billboard Hot 100, #10 on the R&B chart, and #1 on the Rap chart. It was certified gold and is considered one of the greatest hip-hop songs of all time. The album reached #24 on the Billboard 200. It peaked at #5 on the R&B chart. The RIAA certified the album platinum in 1992.
