On this day in 1989, Gang Starr released their debut album No More Mr. Nice Guy on Wild Pitch. The album was self-produced by DJ Premier and Guru along with Mark the 45 King. Damo D-Ski was featured as a guest artist on the set. No More Mr. Nice Guy spawned the classic singles "Manifest," and "Positivity," which peaked at #19 on the Rap chart. The debut album reached #83 on the R&B chart.
