On this day in 1996, Ruthless Records released the posthumous album from Eazy-E, Str8 off tha Streetz of Muthaphukkin Compton. The album was released ten months after his death. It featured production from DJ Yella, Bobby "Bobcat" Ervin, Naughty by Nature, Roger Troutman, and Eazy-E. Guest artists featured on the album included MC Res, Dresta, and B.G. Knocc Out. Str8 off tha Streetz of Muthaphukkin Compton spawned the two singles "Tha Muthaphukkin' Real," which just missed the top forty on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the Rap chart; and "Just tah Let U Know," which peaked at #45 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #4 on the Rap chart. The album reached #3 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the R&B chart. The album was certified gold by the RIAA.
