On this day in Hip-Hop history, Da Lench Mob, Diamond D, and Showbiz & A.G. debuted.
On this day in 1992, Da Lench Mob released their debut album Guerillas in tha Mist on East West. The album was produced by Ice Cube and he was featured throughout the album uncredited. It would spawn two singles "Guerillas in tha Mist" and "Freedom Got an A.K." The first would later be featured in the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas while "Freedom Got an A.K." reached #7 on the Rap chart. Guerillas in tha Mist reached #24 on the Billboard 200 and #4 on the R&B chart. It was certified gold in December, 1992. On this day in 1992, Diamond D released his debut album Stunts, Blunts and Hip-Hop on Mercury. The debut release from the Bronx-born producer featured early cameos from Fat Joe and Big L. The album featured coproduction from Q-Tip, the 45 King, Jazzy Jay, and among others. Stunts, Blunts, and Hip-Hop spawned three singles: "Best-Kept Secret," "Sally Got a One Track Mind," and "What U Heard." The album reached #47 on the R&B chart. It was selected as one of The Source's 100 Best Rap Albums. On this day in 1992, Showbiz & A.G. released their debut album Runaway Slave on Payday. The innovative debut set from the D.I.T.C. duo was mostly produced by Showbiz, with Diamond D producing two cuts. Guests on the album included fellow D.I.T.C. member Big L, Dres, Diamond D, Lord Fineses, DeShawn, Fat Joe, and Freddie Foxxx. The album spawned two singles: "Bounce ta This," which reached #8 on the Rap chart, and "Fat Pockets," which reached #15 on the same chart. Runaway Slave reached #78 on the R&B chart.
