On this day in Hip-Hop history, De La Soul released their second album De La Soul Is Dead.

On this day in 1991, De La Soul released their second album De La Soul Is Dead on Tommy Boy.  The much-anticipated sophomore album was self-produced by the group along with Prince Paul.  Guest artists featured on the set included Q-Tip, Black Sheep, and Russell Simmons.

De La Soul Is Dead spawned the hits "A Roller Skating Jam Named 'Saturdays'," which was the lead single and reached #43 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart; "Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey)," which peaked at #22 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart; and "Keepin' the Faith."  The album reached #26 on the Billboard 200.  It peaked at #24 on the R&B chart.

2001 - Jagged Edge released the single "Where the Party At" on So So Def.

2002 - Cam'ron released his third studio album Come Home with Me on Roc-A-Fella.
