On this day in 1993, De la Soul released their third studio album Buhloone Mindstate on Tommy Boy. This was the group's last record to be produced with Prince Paul. Guests featured on the album included the Japanese rappers Scha Dara Parr and Takagi Kan, Biz Markie, Guru, Dres of Black Sheep, and featured the most was Philadelphia's own Shorty No Mass. The album produced two singles: "Breakadawn," which featured samples from Michael Jackson and Smokey Robinson, and "Ego Trippin' (Part Two)."
