On this day in 1994, Coolio released his debut solo album It Takes a Thief on Tommy Boy. The debut was produced by Bryan Dobbs. Guest artists featured on the album included WC, LeShaun, J-Ro, and Billy Boy. It Take a Thief spawned the singles "County Line," which was the lead single off the set; "I Remember;" "Mama I'm in Love wit' a Gangsta;" and "Fantastic Voyage," which was certified platinum and reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the Rap chart. The album peaked at #8 on the Billboard 200.
