On this day in 1993, Brand Nubian released their sophomore album In God We Trust on Elektra. The album featured production from Brand Nubian, Diamond D, and Raphael and Sting International. It continued the group's central theme on teachings of the Nation of God and Earth. In God We Trust produced the classic hit singles "Punks Jump Up to Get Beat Down," which reached #77 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the Rap chart; "Allah U Akbar," and "Love Me or Leave Me Alone." The album peaked at #12 on the Billboard 200. It reached #4 on the R&B chart.
