On March 24, 1992, Arrested Development released their debut album 3 Years, 5 Months, and 2 Days in the Life of... on Chrysalis. The album was produced by Speech and featured samples from James Brown, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Sly & the Family Stone, Prince, and more. 3 Years, 5 Months, and 2 Days in the Life of... spawned the singles "Tennessee," which reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100, #1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and was certified gold; "People Everyday," which peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified gold; and "Mr. Wendal," which reached #6 on the BillboardHot 100 and was also certified gold by the RIAA. The album peaked at #7 on the Billboard 200 and won a Grammy for best rap album. It sold over four million copies and was certified multi-platinum by the RIAA.
