On this day in 2016, A Tribe Called Quest released their final studio album We Got it From Here...Thank You 4 Your Service on Epic. It was the pioneering rap group's first album since 1998's The Love Movement and their last-ever studio album that featured all original members, as Phife Dawg passed away a few months prior to the release of the set. The comeback album featured production from Q-Tip and Blair Wells. Notable guests featured on the album were Andre' 3000, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Talib Kweli, Anderson. Paak, Elton John, and Jack White, as well as longtime collaborators Consequence and Busta Rhymes. We Got It from Here...Thank You 4 Your Service spawned a couple singles. "Dis Generation," and the politically charged hit "We the People...," which peaked at #23 on the Rap chart. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. It was their second album to top the chart. The final set was certified gold.
