On this day in 2012, Georgia rapper 2 Chainz released his debut studio album Based on a T.R.U. Story on Def Jam. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and was nominated for a Grammy. It would also be certified platinum. Based on a T.R.U. Story spawned three top ten singles on the Rap chart: "No Lie" featuring Drake, "Birthday Song" featuring Kanye West, and "I'm Different." Other guests on the album included Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, John Legend, Scarface, The-Dream, and Mike Posner. Production credits on the album belong to Mike Posner, Kanye West, Drumma Boy, Mike Will Made It, Mr. Bangladesh, and DJ Mustard.
