On this day in 1995, Too $hort released his ninth album Cocktails on Jive. The album featured production by Ant Banks, LA Dre, Shorty B, Spearhead X, B. Turner, the Dangerous Crew, and Too $hort. Guest artists featured on the album included Old School Freddy B, Father Dom, MC Breed, Baby D, Malik and Jamal from Illegal, and 2Pac. Cocktails was Too $hort's sixth album on Jive. It debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200. It reached #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop chart. The album sold 101,00 copies its first week. It was certified platinum by the RIAA in January 1997.
