On this day in Hip-Hop history, The Roots self-released their debut album Organix.
On this day in 1993, The Roots, consisting of members ?uestlove, Black Thought, Leonard "Hub" Hubbard, Scott Storch, and MCs Malik B. and Kid Crumbs, self-released their debut album Organix on Remedy Records. The album was self-produced by The Roots and was sold while on tour in Europe before being rereleased on Cargo Records in 1998. Organix included the hits "Pass the Popcorn," "The Session (Longest Posse Cut in History, 12:43)," and "I'm Out Deah."
