On this day in 1983, Run-D.M.C. released their second single "Hard Times" on Profile Records. The song was originally recorded by Kurtis Blow for his 1980 self-titled debut album. It would be released on Run-D.M.C.'s self-titled debut album released the following year. "Hard Times" was produced by Larry Smith, Russell Simmons, and Jam Master Jay. It reached #11 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart.
