On this day in 2005, Lil Wayne released his fifth studio album Tha Carter II on Young Money. The album featured production from The Heatmakerz, the Doe Boyz, and others and was executively produced by Birdman and Ronald "Slim" Williams. Notable guest artists featured on the album included Kurupt of Tha Dogg Pound, Birdman, Curren$y, Robin Thicke, and Nikki. Tha Carter II spawned the few hit singles, "Fireman," which reached #10 on the Rap chart; "Hustler Musik," which reached #16 on the Rap chart; and "Shooter," which peaked at #97 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200. It reached #1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and Rap chart. It sold over two million copies and was certified multi-platinum by the RIAA.
