On this day in 1999, Jay Z released his fourth album Vol. 3...Life and Times of S. Carter on Roc-A-Fella. The album featured production from DJ Premier, Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, DJ Clue, Irv Gotti, and several others. Notable guest artists featured on the album included Beanie Sigel, Amil, UGK, Mariah Carey, Juvenile, Dr. Dre, Serena Altschul, and Memphis Bleek. Vol. 3...Life and Times of S. Carter produced four hit singles, "Jigga My Nigga," which reached #28 on the Billboard Hot 100; "Do It Again (Put Ya Hands Up)," which peaked at #9 on the Rap chart; "Big Pimpin'," which reached #18 on the Billboard Hot 100; and "Things That You Do." The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. It was certified multi-platinum by the RIAA.
