On this day in 1999, Ja Rule released his debut album Venni Vetti Vecci on Murder Inc. The album featured production from Gotti, Erick Sermon, Tyrone Fyffe, Tai, DL, and Lil Rob. It was the first full-length album released on Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. imprint. Notable guest artists featured on the set included Jay Z, Ronald Isley, Case, DMX, Nemesis, Memphis Bleek, Black Child, and Tah Murdah. Venni Vetti Vecci spawned the hit "Holla, Holla," which reached #2 on the Rap chart. The album peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200. It was certified multi-platinum by the RIAA.
