On this day in 2013, J. Cole released his sophomore album Born Sinner on Roc Nation. The album was produced by Cole along with Christian Rich, Jake One, Elite, Syience, and others. Guest artists featured on the set included TLC, Miguel, Amber Coffman, Cults, Kendrick Lamar, James Fauntleroy, Jhene Aiko, Bas, and 50 Cent. Born Sinner spawned the singles: "Crooked Smile," which reached #27 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified platinum by the RIAA; "Power Trip," which was nominated for a Grammy and was certified platinum by the RIAA; "She Knows," which peaked at #90 on the Billboard Hot 100; and "Forbidden Fruit," which reached #46 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart. The album debuted at #2 and after two weeks reached #1 on the Billboard 200. It also topped the R&B/Hip-Hop chart. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA.
