On this day in 2014, J Cole released his third studio album 2014 Forest Hills Drive on Roc Nation and Columbia Records. The album was named after the North Carolina's rapper's home address in Fayetteville where he grew up as a teenager. The third set featured production from J Cole, Illmind, Phonix Beats, Willie B, and Vinylz. The album produced the four singles, "Apparently," "Wet Dreamz," "No Role Modelz," and "Love Yourz," all of which reached the top forty on the Hip-Hop/R&B chart. 2014 Forest Hills Drive debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. The album was nominated for several awards, including the 2016 Grammy for Best Rap Album, and won the 2015 BET Award for Album of the Year. It sold over 353,000 copies its first week and was certified platinum in December 2016.
