On this day in 1996, A Tribe Called Quest released their fourth album Beats, Rhymes, and Life on Jive. The album featured production by Rashad Smith, Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and Jay Dee. Notable guest artists featured on the set included Tammy Lucas and Faith Evans. Beats, Rhymes, and Life spawned the singles "1nce Again," which was the lead single; and "Stressed Out." The album won nominated for two Grammy awards. It reached #1 on both the Billboard 200 and the R&B chart. It was certified platinum by the RIAA.
