The album featured guest artists Big Boi, Nas, Eve, Q-Tip, Lil' Kim, Redman, Eminem, Juvenile, and Beyonce. Da Real World spawned the singles "She's a Bitch," which reached #30 on the R&B chart; "All n My Grill," which peaked at #16 on the R&B chart; and the remix of "Hot Boyz," which spent sixteen weeks at #1 on the Rap chart. The album reached #10 on the Billboard 200. It was #1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart. Missy's second set sold more than one million copies in its first seven months and was certified platinum by the RIAA.

On this day in 1971, the revolutionary poet, writer, author, rapper and actor Tupac Amaru Shakur was born in New York City, New York. The legend moved to the Bay Area of California in 1988 at the age of 17 and by 1991 released his debut album 2Pacalypse Now on Interscope. 2Pac released a total of four studio albums before his untimely death: 2Pacalypse Now, Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z., Me Against the World, and the double-album All Eyez on Me. He starred or co-starred in six major motion films: Juice, Poetic Justice, Above the Rim, Bullet, Gridlock'd, and Gang Related. Tupac is also authored the book The Rose That Grew From Concrete which featured a collection of his poems written between 1989-1991. 2Pac Shakur is considered one of the most influential hip-hop artists to date.
